🎧 Open Source — Crosstalk (Luca Rassi)
Open Source, a Crosstalk moment
Hard-to-pin and impossible-to-ignore, Crosstalk is the electronic project of São Paulo-based artist and visual effects specialist Luca Rassi, embracing the interference between UK garage, baile funk, dubstep, and ambient textures. Since emerging in 2023, Crosstalk’s club edits have entered heavy international DJ rotation, supported by names like Skrillex, Bicep & Machinedrum, and in 2025, his EP with Chediak, “Cheditalk”, ranked #64 on RA’s ‘Best Electronic Records of 2000–25’. Becoming one of the lead figures spearheading UK bass in his home country, Crosstalk’s project acts as a conduit between Brazil’s hyperlocal rave culture and the wider global underground.
‘Open Source’ invites all of us into this conversation, capturing the post-genre, hypermodern club sound in a ready-to-use package. Clean, subharmonic rumbles emerge from twice-distilled bass design, while the percussion gives a tasteful glimpse into funk’s full-frequency noise before slotting back into deep club pockets. Multi-modal melodies beget cinematic textures, drawing a line from Rassi’s time in film production. These samples and Serum 2 presets are for producers of any genre unafraid of getting nicked by the cutting edge.
“The same way I rely on and admire open source tools, I hope this pack gives you that same feeling. There’s something refreshing about opening up a piece of your work and letting others build from it.”
